Menopause & Perimenopause

Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life. While physical changes do occur, there are ways to address the challenges you may experience so that you can thrive.

If you experience difficulties with sex or other symptoms associated with menopause, know that you’re not alone, and there are effective treatments that can help.

During menopause and perimenopause, the production of estrogen and progesterone, hormones vital for collagen production and building muscle mass, decreases over time.

Aging combined with these hormonal changes can weaken the pelvic floor, leading to pelvic floor conditions such as urinary leakage, urinary urgency, urinary frequency, and pelvic organ prolapse. Painful sex or dyspareunia can also occur due to vaginal dryness, a side effect of estrogen deficiency. Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help.
